Franak Viachorka, a member of BAJ and a former student of the Faculty of Journalism of Belarusian State University, was conveyed by the police officers to a military registration and enlistment office. The incident happened 6 June. Franak Viachorka told BAJ Press Service in the morning the same day police and KGB officers were waiting for him in a car in front of his house.

"They showed me the order about conveying me to Savetski District of Minsk police station and military office. They said I am a draftee who won’t appear in the military office upon calls. At the same time I received only one call-up paper, but I was ill at that time. The police officers tried to hand me a call-up paper in Russian, but I said I didn’t understand Russian. Then they said they will pass the case to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and from Monday on I will be on a ban list to leave the country", Viachorka says.

According to Franak Viachorka, his conversation in the military registration and enlistment office was filmed by police officers. He says he was asked about the purpose of his visits abroad, but he ignored the questions and was set free in some time.

The date of court hearings on Franak Viachorka’s appeal against the rector of Belarusian State University will be defined soon. Viachorka thinks he was expelled form the university with no legal grounds for that.

"The judge of Maskouski District of Minsk has already been appointed, and everything is ready for the hearings. I am not going to give up until I am reinstalled in the university", the former student says.
